MASK POLICY
At this time, masks are strongly recommended in all indoor school settings. Well-fitting and better filtering masks (such KN95s, KN94s, N95s) are highly recommended. Masks continue to be available to students free-of-charge at the ECRCHS main entrance, Health Office, and various other offices and locations on campus.
All schools are required to adhere to specific Los Angeles County Health Officer Orders for some specific situations in which masking is still required. ECRCHS will communicate information about required mask wearing to those who are impacted by this requirement.
QUARANTINE PROTOCOLS & FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When do I need to go home?
If a student or staff member is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, the ECRCHS Health Office will administer a rapid/antigen COVID Test and the student or staff member will be sent home. For students, the parent/guardian will be contacted to pick up the ill student. If the rapid test is negative and there is no known exposure to COVID-19, the student/staff member with symptoms will not be permitted on campus until symptoms have improved and they must be fever-free without use of fever-reducing medications for at least 24 hours if there is no known exposure and no positive COVID-19 test.
What if I am exposed to COVID?
If you have a verified exposure to COVID-19, please watch for symptoms. It is recommended to take a rapid/antigen test on day 5 following the exposure date. If the known exposure is on campus, the Health Office will provide a rapid test in accordance with DPH recommended timelines.
Where can I get a rapid/antigen test?
For those experiencing symptoms or with a known exposure to a positive case on campus, the ECRCHS Health Office will administer a rapid test. ECRCHS does not have the resources to send extra tests home with students or staff members.
Free over the counter (OTC) tests can be picked up at Department of Public Health vaccination sites, the seven Public Health Points of Dispensing (PODs), schools, community partners in areas hard hit by the pandemic, skilled nursing facilities, community clinics, pharmacies, and LA County libraries. Additional information is available here: http://publichealth.lacounty.gov/media/Coronavirus/docs/POD_Site_Services.pdf
Currently, those who have health insurance can also receive eight free at-home tests each month for each insured member in their household.
When do I need to quarantine?
Quarantine is no longer required following to a COVID-19 exposure. Quarantine is only required if you present symptoms following an exposure or if you test positive for COVID-19. Contact the ECRCHS Health Office if you have specific questions regarding whether you must quarantine.
